Balchic
The resort town Balchik is situated about 40 km north from the sea capital of Bulgaria – Varna. In one of the most comfortable Black sea bays, protected area Cape Kaliakra. The town`s history is more than 2 500 years old. If looked from the sea Balchik fascinates. It`s serpentine turning streets climb up the slope from the sea shore to the white hills, their interweaving and steps, twisting and turning between the houses, create unique character of the town. All the houses are buil in a mediterranean style – combination of white stone walls, red-yellowish tiled roofs and saturated green trees and blooming flowers. Exceptionally beautiful look of the city from the sea once caused the great Ovidius to cry out: “Greet you, oh, white stone city, with your unique beauty”. And still in nowadays many people get one thought crossing their mind – “it would be great to spend my old age in this town”. In Bulgaria which is now in movement, which builds and demolishes, repairs and renovates – this place is an island of peace, tidiness and perfection. Here is everything already done. Here all stress, nervousness, worry and uneasiness are over. Here man just live.
At the port there is always a fresh fish to buy and at the small stores fresh fruits and vegetables. Many restaurants with not so expensive and delicious kitchen lure with appetite smells and rich wine choice.
There is a yacht port in Balchik build in 2007. Except of the yacht places there is offered a full range of services concerning yacht maintenance. Besides there is a helicopter landing place.
There are two already opened golf courses not far away from the town. They were designed from the world famous golf players Ian Woosnam and Gary Player.
Few kilometers north is situated a small SPA complex with it`s own mineral springs.
